Mongolia and Tajikistan Sign Multiple Cooperation Agreements

During the state visit of the President of Mongolia to Tajikistan, eleven agreements aimed at expanding relations and cooperation were signed, according to Montsame.

President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon signed the Joint Declaration on Developing Friendly Relations and Multifaceted Cooperation, The Caspian Post reports citing foreign media.

The two heads of state affirmed their intentions to develop and strengthen traditional friendly relations and cooperation in politics, trade, economy, industry, agriculture, renewable energy, transport, logistics, education, culture, and tourism sectors.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs. The two Ministries will exchange information and experiences, and strengthen connections between ministries and agencies of other sectors.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh and Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan Daler Juma signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Ministry of Energy of Mongolia and the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan.

The document creates opportunities for cooperation on projects and programs in the hydropower sector by strengthening human resources, organizing long- and short-term training as well as expert exchanges, and implementing joint projects. The government of Mongolia aims to develop projects on water sources in the energy sector and achieve energy independence. The Mongolian side will draw on the experiences of Tajikistan, which aims to meet 98% of its energy supply needs from hydroelectric power plants, thus achieving energy independence.

Minister of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry of Mongolia Enkhbayar Jadamba and Minister of Agriculture of Tajikistan Hakimzoda Kurbon signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation. The two sides will share experiences in plant propagation, animal husbandry, mechanization of agricultural production, introducing advanced technologies in seed production, protecting plants from diseases and pests, conducting joint research on land rehabilitation and soil irrigation systems, and improving plant sanitation and veterinary control. A favorable environment has been created for research aimed at establishing joint factories, training human resources, and exchanging professionals.

Minister of Culture, Sports, Tourism, and Youth of Mongolia Undram Chinbat and Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development under the Government of Tajikistan Jamshed Jumakhonzoda signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation. The two sides agreed to cooperate in preservation, efficient promotion, and development of natural and cultural heritage as a wealth of the future. The two parties agreed to provide mutual support for investment in tourism and smart tourism initiatives, as well as to expand communication of relevant business entities.

Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Communications of Mongolia Batshugar Enkhbayar and Director of the Agency of Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of Tajikistan Mirzo Khurshed Fayzullozoda signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Digital Transition. The two sides will exchange experiences in refining regulatory systems for digital economies and developing state digital services, as well as digitizing operations of state agencies.

Chief of the National Emergency Management Agency of Mongolia Major General Ariunbuyan Gombojav and Head of the Committee of Emergency Situations under the Government of Tajikistan Colonel General Rajabali Rakhmonali signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.

The two sides agreed to exchange experiences in managing emergencies caused by natural and human factors and reducing risks of natural disasters. The two sides will implement joint projects and programs to strengthen the rapid alert system for the public during emergencies and disasters, and to introduce modern technologies. Specialists will be trained and skilled, and joint exercises and drills will be organized in the field of disaster protection.

President of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences Major Demberel Sodnomsambuu and President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan Khushvakhtzoda Kobiljon signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Sciences. The two academies will share knowledge and information, implement joint research projects, programs, and seminars, exchange scientists and researchers, and sustainably develop new kinds of joint research. The two sides will collaborate in areas of natural, social, humanitarian, and agricultural sciences, particularly fruit and berry farming and food technologies.

Director of E-Mongolia Academy Myagmarnaran Byavuujav and Director of the Innovation and Digital Technology Agency under the President of Tajikistan Mirzo Khurshed Faizullozoda signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Academy and the cipher centers, public services and digital program development companies. The two sides will cooperate in conducting joint research on pressing issues related to international relations, regional security, economic and social sustainable development, as well as by exchanging experience, organizing joint academic conferences, discussions, and seminars.

Director of the Institute for Security Studies of Mongolia Ganbold Gankhuyag and Director of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of Tajikistan Usmonzoda Khairidin Usmon signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation. They will share research results in the fields of international relations, global and regional security, and economic and social development issues, and also cooperate in organizing academic conferences, seminars, roundtable meetings, and scholarly discussions, as well as in holding regional and international events.

Director of the Chinggis Khaan National Museum of Mongolia Sampilndondov Chuluun and Director of the National Museum of Tajikistan Ibrokhimzoda Zafarsho Safo signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. They will cooperate on the preservation, research, and promotion of historical and cultural heritage, as well as on deepening and strengthening scientific and cultural relations.
