The Tajik Ministry of Labor, Migration, and Employment has announced that nearly 37,000 residents of Tajikistan successfully completed short-term professional training courses and validated their skills during the first six months of 2025.
Tajik Minister of Labor, Migration, and Employment Soleha Kholmahmadzoda noted that 36,294 people participated in various vocational programs aimed at acquiring new skills or confirming existing qualifications, The Caspian Post reports per Tajik media.
Training was conducted through the State Institution “Center for Development of Crafts and Modern Professional Skills,” employment agency training centers, and other educational institutions nationwide.
Funding for these programs came from multiple sources: 9,179 individuals trained under the State Employment Support Program, 7,828 self-financed their education, and 7,104 validated their skills through adult competency recognition procedures.
The most popular courses included sewing (4,528 participants, all women), language studies (around 2,800 participants, predominantly men), welding (2,791 men), confectionery, electrical work, construction, computer literacy, cooking, weaving and knitting, and painting and plastering.
Kholmahmadzoda emphasized that such programs are vital in improving the qualifications of youth and vulnerable groups, helping them better meet labor market demands.
As of July 1, 2025, Tajikistan’s official unemployment rate stood at 1.2 per cent, with 33,800 people registered as unemployed.
