Tajikistan Bets Big on Technology with IT Hub Development

Tajikistan has launched construction of its largest-ever digital technology project, marking a major step in the country’s push to build an innovation-driven economy.

Ground has officially been broken for IT Hub Dushanbe, a sprawling high-tech complex set to become the centerpiece of Tajikistan’s digital transformation efforts. The launch ceremony was attended by Chairman of the National Assembly and Mayor of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.

Designed as a comprehensive technology ecosystem, the new complex will feature an IT school, an IT Park, an Information Technology Business Center, and a Regional Artificial Intelligence Center. The project will play a key role in accelerating the country’s digital economy and expanding the adoption of advanced technologies.

According to a statement published by the Dushanbe mayor’s office, the initiative aims to strengthen the information society, boost innovation, and improve the competitiveness of Tajikistan’s economy.

“The project will create a solid foundation for developing a new innovation-driven and digital environment in the country,” the statement noted.

Khurshed Mirzo, Director of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies, said the IT Hub Dushanbe complex will cover more than 53,000 square meters. Total investment in the ambitious project is estimated at $100 million.
