Tajikistan has harvested approximately 324,000 tons of fruits and grapes as of early August 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture reported, marking a 32.4 per cent increase in fruit production and a 38.2 per cent rise in grape output compared to last year.
Overall, the crop sector grew 9 per cent, reaching 15.9 billion somoni ($1.706 billion) in production value, The Caspian Post reports per Tajik media.
Projections indicate that by the end of 2025, fruit production could reach 726,000 tons and grape production 221,000 tons, with further growth expected through 2028.
Fruit prices have risen 8 per cent this summer, reflecting broader food inflation trends. Lemons saw the sharpest increase (+14.2 per cent), grapes climbed 38.2 per cent, and apples rose 2.2 per cent. Regional variations are notable, with grape prices up 60.2 per cent in Khatlon and 47.6 per cent in Sughd.
