Tajikistan, Iran Explore Ways to Boost Trade, Economic Ties

Tajikistan and Iran have discussed initiatives to strengthen trade and economic cooperation.

During a meeting between Director of Tajikistan’s Agency for Export Activities Bakhriddin Sirojiddinzoda and Iranian Ambassador to Tajikistan Alireza Haqiqian, both sides explored the creation of logistics centers, joint ventures for processing agricultural products, and cotton supplies. They also considered establishing a representative office of Tajikistan’s Agency for Export Activities in Tehran, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.

The Iranian ambassador provided a detailed report on current trade volumes between the countries. Officials emphasized the growing efforts in recent years to create favorable conditions for expanding Tajikistan-Iran economic and trade relations.

Exports from Iran to Tajikistan have surged by over 40 per cent, reaching $178 million in the first half of 2025, with $157 million going to the Khorasan-Razavi province.
