Kazakhstan is boosting exports to Iran, with trade growth reaching 40 per cent this year.
Speaking at the Astana Business Forum, Ayitmukhammed Aldazharov, Director General of the QazTrade Trade Policy Development Center, highlighted key exports including grain, barley, wheat, oils, and confectionery, noting rising demand for the country’s vegetable oil and fat products, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
To strengthen global market positions, QazTrade, together with the International Trade Center and the Association of Oil Processors, developed a roadmap aiming to make Kazakhstan a top-three global supplier of oil and fat products, targeting $1 billion in exports, up from the current $560 million.
Aldazharov emphasized the importance of developing logistics routes. As part of this effort, QazTrade and Iran’s Chamber of Commerce will sign an agreement to establish a transport corridor zone connecting Kazakhstan to the Persian Gulf and North Africa. Eight commercial agreements worth about $1 billion are expected at the Forum, with Kazakhstan ready to supply at least $200 million in goods to Iran.
