Tajikistan Opens Tournament Against India Following Malaysia Pullout

Tajikistan’s national football team will face India in their opening match of the CAFA Nations Cup 2025, following Malaysia's withdrawal from the tournament.

The tournament runs from August 29 to September 8 and will be hosted jointly by Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. All Group B matches, including Tajikistan’s fixtures, will take place at the Hisor Central Stadium, The Caspian Post reports per Tajik media.

Group B consists of Tajikistan, India, Afghanistan, and Iran, competing in a round-robin format. The winners of Groups A and B will contest the final in Tashkent, while second-place teams will compete for third place in Hisor.

Group B Match Schedule:

August 29: Tajikistan vs India; Iran vs Afghanistan

September 1: Afghanistan vs Tajikistan; India vs Iran

September 4: Tajikistan vs Iran; Afghanistan vs India

Group A matches, hosted in Tashkent, will feature Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Oman.
