Tajikistan Welcomes New EU Envoy as Talks Highlight Future Cooperation

Tajik First Deputy Foreign Minister Ismatullo Nasredin has received the credentials of newly appointed EU Ambassador Radoslaw Darski, as both sides discussed key areas of mutual interest and prospects for strengthening Tajikistan-EU relations.

Nasredin congratulated Darski on his appointment and wished him success in his diplomatic mission, The Caspian Post informs via Tajik media.

Darski succeeds Raymundas Karoblis, who served as Head of the EU Delegation in Tajikistan for the past three years.

Thus, Darski brings extensive diplomatic experience and expertise in European policy, regional cooperation, and international relations.

Over the course of more than two decades, he has held key positions within the European External Action Service (EEAS), various EU delegations, and Poland’s national diplomatic service.

Most recently, Darski served as Deputy Director of the European Policy Department at Poland’s Foreign Ministry, where he oversaw policies related to the Western Balkans, Türkiye, the South Caucasus, and the Eastern Partnership. Prior to that, he was Deputy Director of the Eastern Department, responsible for Central Asia, the South Caucasus, and Eastern Partnership initiatives.

His regional experience also includes senior roles at EU Delegations in Uzbekistan and Georgia, where he led political and information sections and contributed to strengthening cooperation with EU Member States and regional partners.

Darski holds a Master’s degree in Political Science with a specialization in International Relations from the University of Wrocław (Poland). He is fluent in Polish, English, and Russian.

Commenting on his new role, Darski expressed enthusiasm for deepening EU-Tajikistan relations and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Tajikistan’s development initiatives within a broader regional context.
