Arts and Crafts Exhibition Showcases Talented Women in Turkmenistan

A conference titled “Hünärim bar - hormatym bar” has been held at the Central Building of Public Organizations of Turkmenistan to commemorate the country’s 34th independence anniversary.

The event was organized by the Central Council of the Union of Women of Turkmenistan in collaboration with the Center for Business Women under the union, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.

Participants at the conference underscored the vital role of women in developing the private sector. They highlighted the Center for Business Women’s efforts to support talented and hardworking entrepreneurs, helping them gain professional recognition and secure respected positions in society. The center’s programs also promote mentorship and the development of young professionals, continuing long-standing traditions of guidance and support.

As part of the event, an exhibition of handicrafts and decorative-applied arts was organized. The exhibition featured wool and silk carpets, modern carpets, souvenirs, and jewelry crafted by skilled female artisans. Traditional national jewelry pieces, including the bracelet “Bilezik”, the brooch “Gulyaka”, and pendants “Shelpe”, “Gupba”, and “Khundji”, were also on display.

The conference and exhibition highlighted the achievements of women entrepreneurs and their growing contribution to Turkmenistan’s private sector, emphasizing the importance of female participation in the country’s economic and cultural development.
