Doha Talks Focus on Turkmenistan-Qatar Cooperation and Shared Initiatives

Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the State of Qatar, Myratgeldi Seyitmammedov, has met with Minister of Municipalities of the State of Qatar, H.E. Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and advancing shared initiatives.

During the meeting, Seyitmammedov emphasized the international significance of the United Nations' declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust - an initiative proposed and championed by Turkmenistan, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.

He noted that numerous international events and forums are being held throughout the year to mark the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s status as a permanently neutral state, reinforcing the country's commitment to global peace and diplomacy.

The ambassador also conveyed key messages from Chairman of the People’s Council and National Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who highlighted the scope of comprehensive reforms being implemented under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. These reforms are shaping the socio-economic landscape of the country, with particular attention drawn to Arkadag, Turkmenistan’s pioneering “smart city” project, which integrates cutting-edge urban planning with sustainable development.

Both sides discussed avenues for enhancing Turkmen-Qatari cooperation, focusing on practical steps to deepen collaboration in areas such as urban development, infrastructure, and municipal management. The meeting reaffirmed the mutual interest in building a long-term partnership based on shared values and strategic goals.

The discussions reflect a broader commitment by both nations to support peacebuilding efforts, promote regional cooperation, and engage in development-oriented diplomacy.
