Turkmen-Grown Mushrooms Make Export Breakthrough

Mushrooms grown under the Tokaychy brand, cultivated at a high-tech greenhouse complex operated by Turkmen entrepreneur Babasadyk Churiyev, are gaining traction beyond national borders.

More than 165 tons of mushrooms have already been exported to neighboring Uzbekistan, reflecting growing regional demand for Turkmen agricultural products, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.

Located within the “Üzümçilik” agricultural association in Gökdepe district, Ahal Province, the greenhouse spans 3 hectares of a 6-hectare government-allocated site. Equipped with modern cultivation systems, the facility produces between 1 and 1.5 tons of mushrooms daily, servicing both domestic retail outlets and foreign buyers.

In response to strong market interest, construction is underway for an additional 1-hectare greenhouse, specifically for champignon mushrooms, a popular variety with broad culinary appeal. This expansion is being carried out in phases, aligned with supply-demand trends.

Tokaychy mushrooms are known for their eco-friendly production, high nutritional value, and culinary versatility, making them a staple in households and restaurants across Turkmenistan. To maintain quality and pricing, the enterprise also operates its own compost fertilizer production, ensuring a sustainable and cost-effective growing cycle.

The company's adherence to international food safety and quality standards has significantly boosted consumer trust, positioning Tokaychy as an emerging player in the regional agri-export market.
