Turkmen Leader Congratulates Healthcare Workers, Highlights Progress in Medical Sector

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has congratulated healthcare and medical industry professionals on their professional holiday, emphasizing the country’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its healthcare system, adopt modern treatment methods, and develop the medical industry.

The president noted that over the three decades since the adoption of the Saglyk State Program, Turkmenistan has laid a strong foundation for its national healthcare system, The Caspian Post informs via Turkmen media.

Under the banner of the “Era of Revival of the New Age of a Powerful State,” the country continues expanding its network of advanced diagnostic and clinical centers, multi-profile hospitals, sanatoriums, and pharmaceutical production facilities using locally sourced raw materials.

Among the new facilities are the International Scientific and Clinical Center of Physiology in Ashgabat, the Maternal and Child Health Center, and a multi-profile hospital in Arkadag City. Large-scale projects are also underway, including the International Pediatric Center with 160 beds, the International Scientific and Clinical Oncology Center with 500 beds, a Dental Center, a medical cluster, and the expansion of the “Arçman” sanatorium in Ahal Province with 400 new beds.

President Berdimuhamedov drew attention to the development of the domestic medical industry, noting that the “Arkadag Medisina Klasteri Menejment” enterprise has begun producing medical products from eco-friendly local materials. He also highlighted that Turkmen doctors are receiving advanced training in leading medical institutions across Europe and other countries, while the Turkmen-German Medical Forum continues facilitating experience exchange and the introduction of cutting-edge medical practices.

The president commended the Charitable Foundation for Assisting Children in Need of Care named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for providing medical support, diagnostics, and modern equipment to healthcare facilities. Turkmenistan’s achievements in the healthcare sector, he noted, have been recognized by international organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF.

Berdimuhamedov also underscored the importance of the International Exhibition and Scientific Conference “Healthcare, Education, and Sports in the Era of Revival of the New Age of a Powerful State,” which highlights the country’s progress in healthcare, education, and sports. He noted that modern educational and sports facilities - including schools, kindergartens, creative centers, and sports complexes - are being built across the nation, creating favorable conditions for hosting major international sporting events and promoting healthy lifestyles.

Reaffirming that the health and well-being of citizens remain the core of Turkmenistan’s state policy, the president stated that the country’s healthcare achievements strengthen its international standing and foster cooperation with foreign partners.

Concluding his address, President Berdimuhamedov extended warm wishes to all healthcare professionals, as well as participants of the exhibition and conference, wishing them good health, happiness, prosperity, and continued professional success.
