Chairwoman of the Turkmen parliament, Dunyagozel Gulmanova, acting on the instructions of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, has received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Chad to Turkmenistan, Mahamoud Adam Bechir.
On behalf of the head of state, the speaker of the national parliament congratulated the diplomat on his appointment and wished him success in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.
The ambassador expressed gratitude for the warm reception and, on behalf of Chad’s leadership, conveyed best wishes to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the people of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the diplomat was briefed on the structure of the parliament and its work to improve national legislation, as well as on the key priorities of Turkmenistan’s domestic and foreign policy. It was emphasized that Turkmenistan is interested in expanding cooperation with countries around the world, including states of the African continent.
The sides also exchanged views on prospects for developing bilateral ties in areas of mutual interest. The ambassador noted that it is a great honor for him to represent Chad in neutral Turkmenistan, which pursues a peaceful policy and advances constructive international initiatives, pledging to make every effort to further deepen relations between the two nations.
