Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has accepted the credentials of Qatar’s newly appointed Ambassador, Nasser bin Ahmed Al-Taher, marking a new chapter in Ashgabat-Doha relations.
The president congratulated the diplomat and stressed that Turkmenistan places strategic importance on strengthening and expanding its multifaceted partnership with Qatar, The Caspian Post informs via Turkmen media.
He noted that the traditionally friendly and brotherly ties between the two nations are built on strong mutual understanding and have steadily advanced through high-level visits.
President Berdimuhamedov praised the successful cooperation between Turkmenistan and Qatar within the United Nations, highlighting Qatar’s consistent support for Turkmenistan’s initiatives on the UN platform.
Both sides reaffirmed the vast potential for expanding trade and economic cooperation, identifying several priority areas:
Fuel and energy
Investment
Transport and communications
Chemical and textile industries
Agriculture
Healthcare
High technology
The president also emphasized opportunities for deeper cultural and humanitarian cooperation, including joint efforts to study the rich historical and cultural heritage of both nations.
To fully unlock this potential, he underscored the importance of revitalizing the work of the Turkmen-Qatari Intergovernmental Commission.
Ambassador Nasser bin Ahmed Al Taher assured the president that he will make every effort to further strengthen the traditionally warm and brotherly relations between Turkmenistan and Qatar.
