Turkmen Teachers Boost English Skills in Kazakhstan’s Almaty via US Initiative

Turkmen teachers are currently enhancing their English language proficiency in Kazakhstan’s Almaty as part of a US-sponsored regional program aimed at improving language skills and fostering professional collaboration among educators from Central Asia.

Almaty is hosting the regional C5+ONE (Opening Networks through English) program, aimed at enhancing the English language skills of teachers from across Central Asia from July 7 to August 4, 2025, The Caspian Post reports, citing Turkmen media.

This US-initiated initiative brings together 27 educators from Turkmenistan, alongside counterparts from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

The program focuses on improving language proficiency and building professional networks among educators from various sectors, including education, government, civil society, and the private sector.

The program’s core goals are to elevate English skills, provide intensive, practice-oriented training, foster regional cooperation, and enhance participants’ personal and professional growth.

The program includes a rigorous in-person seminar in Almaty (July 8 - August 3), and ongoing professional development and networking activities scheduled through May 2026.

During the in-person seminar, participants engage in workshops, exchange best teaching practices, and explore innovative educational technologies. Upon completion, Turkmen educators and their peers will be better equipped to apply advanced teaching methods within their home countries, bolstering English language education across the region.
