Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Odile Renaud-Basso, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), in the Uzbek city of Samarkand.
The meeting took place as part of the inaugural "Central Asia - European Union" summit in Samarkand, The Caspian Post reports, citing Turkmen media.
During the meeting, the Head of State emphasized that Turkmenistan places significant importance on strengthening and expanding international partnerships in the implementation of its economic development strategy, particularly in enhancing ties with reputable financial institutions and credit-banking structures. In this context, the effective and long-term nature of Turkmenistan's cooperation with the EBRD was noted with satisfaction.
Ms. Odile Renaud-Basso, while commending the development of Turkmenistan's economic system, affirmed her interest in further expanding mutually beneficial cooperation. Key areas of collaboration identified included energy, transport, and the digital economy.
