Turkmenistan, Japan Partner to Expand Education Projects

Turkmen Education Minister Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiev has held a significant meeting with Hiroshi Sasaki, Japan’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Turkmenistan, focusing on deepening bilateral cooperation and launching new projects in education.

The meeting highlighted the enhanced partnership following the Turkmen president’s official visit to Japan in April, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.

Gurbangeldiyev noted a growing enthusiasm for the Japanese language among Turkmen students, with thousands currently engaged in learning it across schools and universities.

Key areas of cooperation discussed include the establishment of joint educational programs on hydrogen energy, professional development initiatives in STEM fields supported by Japanese programs like JICA and MEXT, and expanding collaboration with Turkmen institutions teaching the Japanese language.

Additionally, both sides confirmed plans for Japan’s participation in the international exhibition and scientific conference titled “Healthcare, Education, and Sports in the Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State,” set to take place in Ashgabat from October 10 to 12.

The officials expressed their mutual commitment to sustained collaboration and support to achieve the outlined goals, marking a new chapter in Turkmenistan-Japan educational relations.
