Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan have jointly launched a test transport route connecting China - Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan - Azerbaijan (Baku) to strengthen regional transport cooperation and expand international logistics networks.
The project is implemented through collaboration between Turkmenistan’s Transport and Logistics Center (TULM), Uzbekistan’s O’ztemiryo’lkonteyner, and Azerbaijan’s Alliance Multimodal, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.
During the pilot phase, four 40-foot containers were shipped from China toward Azerbaijan. The containers have currently arrived at Osh station in Kyrgyzstan, where customs clearance and preparations are underway for onward transit via Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and across the Caspian Sea to Azerbaijan.
According to the agreements, the transit time from Osh to Baku is expected to be 12 calendar days, marking a significant step in enhancing trade and connectivity in the region.
