Turkmenistan has opened four additional border checkpoints along its frontier with Iran.
The move is intended to facilitate the evacuation of Russian citizens, The Caspian Post reports via the Russian Embassy in Ashgabat.
The newly available crossings include:
Artyk - Lutfabad
Gaudan - Bajgiran
Akyaila - Inceburun
Altyn Asyr - Inceburun
This follows the recent opening of the Sarakhs checkpoint on the Turkmen-Iranian border, expanding safe routes for evacuees amid rising regional tensions.
Turkmenistan shares a 1,100-kilometer land border with Iran, as well as maritime boundaries along the Caspian Sea, making it a key transit route for citizens seeking safe passage from the conflict zone.
