A high-level Turkmen delegation led by Parliament Speaker Dunyagozel Gulmanova has visited Russia, which is a significant step in strengthening legislative cooperation between the two nations.
The highlight of the visit was a meeting with Russian Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, where both sides reaffirmed their strategic partnership and discussed expanding collaboration across various sectors, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.
The 2022 visit by Turkmen People's Council Chairman Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was credited with accelerating ties between the parliaments.
The visit culminated in signing a Cooperation Agreement between Turkmenistan’s Mejlis and Russia’s Federation Council-opening fresh opportunities to deepen interparliamentary dialogue and joint projects.
Gulmanova also met with Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the Russian State Duma, where they emphasized the role of parliamentary cooperation in fostering mutual understanding, supporting high-level agreements, and promoting youth and women’s engagement in legislative work.
