Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov has had a phone talk with Tunisia’s Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti to discuss bilateral cooperation and preparations for the upcoming Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3).

Scheduled for August 5-8, 2025, in Turkmenistan’s Avaza tourist zone, the conference aims to foster greater economic integration of landlocked developing countries, focusing on transport, regional connectivity, and digital transformation, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.

Meredov highlighted the event’s significance as part of the 80th anniversary celebrations of the United Nations. The conference will precede a forum marking the International Year of Peace and Trust in Ashgabat on December 12, 2025.

Nafti reaffirmed Tunisia’s commitment to high-level participation and praised Turkmenistan’s role in hosting key international events, emphasizing shared goals of peace, security, and stability under UN principles.
