Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan Deepen Strategic Security Ties

Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening security cooperation during a meeting in Baku between Ramil Usubov, Secretary of Azerbaijan’s Security Council, and his Uzbek counterpart, Viktor Makhmudov, who arrived on an official visit.

The two sides discussed key regional security challenges, noting that rising global tensions and military-political threats make joint efforts more important than ever, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

They highlighted the growing potential for military-technical cooperation, experience exchange between the armed forces, and coordinated work to strengthen stability in the South Caucasus and Central Asia.

Both officials confirmed their readiness to expand collaboration in defense, military training, and critical infrastructure protection.

Following the meeting, the Security Council Secretaries emphasized that the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan will continue growing, guided by the political will of Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and aimed at bolstering trust and regional security.
