Uzbekistan to Declare 2027 Year of Preventive Diplomacy

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has said that Uzbekistan plans to proclaim 2027 as the “Year of Preventive Diplomacy” during its upcoming chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement.

Mirziyoyev made these remarks at the plenary session of the “Peace and Trust: Unity of Goals for a Sustainable Future” forum in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

“During our chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement, Uzbekistan plans to declare 2027 the Year of Preventive Diplomacy,” Mirziyoyev said.

The initiative aims to support global efforts to prevent conflicts and ensure peace for future generations. A special program of events will be prepared, including international conferences, forums, and exchanges of parliamentary, civic, and youth delegations.

Mirziyoyev emphasized that key priorities of Uzbekistan’s chairmanship will include promoting a culture of peace and non-violence, strengthening trust between countries through political dialogue, and fostering tolerance, mutual understanding, and solidarity.
