Azerbaijani President to Attend Central Asian Leaders’ Summit in Uzbekistan

Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev will participate in the seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, scheduled for November 16 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

President Aliyev expressed gratitude to Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the invitation, The Caspian Post informs via Kyrgyz media.

The Azerbaijani leader has previously attended the summit in Dushanbe (2023) and Astana (2024) as an honorary guest. He emphasized that Azerbaijan and Central Asian countries share a single historical, cultural, geographical, and geopolitical space of growing strategic importance.

President Aliyev said that the Caspian Sea might seem to separate them physically, but in reality, it is primarily a symbol of strategic unity, economic potential, and historical cooperation.

He highlighted the deep ties binding the nations through history, culture, religion, and shared traditions.

The Consultative Meeting, held annually on a rotating basis among Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, focuses on strengthening regional cooperation, promoting integration, and enhancing strategic dialogue among Central Asian states.
