Centrum Air has permanently canceled its Samarkand-Dushanbe-Samarkand route after operating the service for three months, citing low passenger demand.
“The route proved unprofitable as passenger numbers were too low to sustain operations. Even during peak periods, flights were not fully booked,” a Centrum Air spokesperson said, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.
The airline emphasized that there are currently no plans to resume flights between Dushanbe and Samarkand. The decision came after a careful evaluation of the route and its performance.
The service, launched on July 20, 2025, operated twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays, with ticket prices starting from 608,000 Uzbek soms ($50.71).
Centrum Air also highlighted that its Tashkent-Dushanbe-Tashkent flights remain operational, serving travelers on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Ticket prices for this route start at 653,000 Uzbek soms ($54.46), ensuring continued connectivity between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
