Uzbekistan-based airline Centrum Air will begin operating regular direct flights between Tashkent and Russia's Ulan-Ude city starting October 30, expanding regional air connectivity between Central Asia and Eastern Siberia.
The flights will be operated once a week, on Thursdays, using modern Airbus A320 aircraft, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Officials at Baikal International Airport in Ulan-Ude, the capital of Russia’s Republic of Buryatia, welcomed the launch, noting that Tashkent is rapidly emerging as a major aviation hub in Central Asia. The city offers convenient links to global destinations such as Bangkok, Seoul, Guangzhou, Tbilisi, and Dubai.
The new route is expected to broaden international flight options for travelers in Buryatia, boost tourism, and enhance economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Buryatia.
