Czech Republic to Issue 150 Work Visas Annually for Uzbek Migrants

The government of the Czech Republic will allocate 150 work visas each year for labor migrants from Uzbekistan as part of a new agreement aimed at strengthening organized labor migration and addressing workforce shortages.

The arrangement was discussed during talks between Director of Uzbekistan’s Migration Agency Behzod Musayev and Czech ambassador to Tashkent, Lubomir Frebort, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The negotiations focused on preparing qualified specialists for the Czech labor market and expanding structured migration opportunities.

Particular attention was given to the training of medical personnel, including nurses and caregivers for the elderly-professions currently in high demand in the Czech Republic. Under the agreement, Prague will provide an annual quota of 150 work visas specifically for Uzbek citizens.

Czech diplomats also expressed interest in learning more about training programs in Tashkent that prepare healthcare workers for employment abroad. Both sides agreed to continue their practical partnership, signaling deeper cooperation in workforce development and labor mobility between the two countries.
