Islamic Development Bank Group Chairman Visits Uzbekistan to Strengthen Poverty Reduction Initiatives

Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, will visit Uzbekistan on September 17-18, 2025, to participate in the third International Forum on Poverty Reduction in Namangan and review the bank’s ongoing projects in strategic sectors.

During his visit, he will also hold high-level meetings with Uzbek government officials, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The forum, organized under the patronage of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, will bring together global leaders, representatives of multilateral development banks, and international organizations to discuss innovative approaches to accelerating poverty reduction.

Dr. Al Jasser will deliver a welcoming address and a keynote speech at the session “The Role of Islamic Finance in Poverty Reduction: New Opportunities and Solutions.”

Beyond the forum, the IsDB chairman will hold a series of high-level meetings and review the bank’s ongoing projects in strategic sectors such as early childhood education and healthcare, highlighting IsDB’s long-term commitment to human capital development and the strengthening of Uzbekistan’s national health systems.

The bank’s continued engagement in supporting Uzbekistan’s development priorities underscores its role as a key institution promoting inclusive economic growth, mobilizing partner resources, and maximizing development impact.
