Minor Explosion During National Guard Drills in Uzbekistan’s Nukus Injures 10 Soldiers

A minor explosion occurred during National Guard exercises in Uzbekistan’s Nukus city, leaving around 10 military personnel injured.

An official investigation has been launched into the incident, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The National Guard of Uzbekistan said the explosion took place at a field training ground during a practical exercise. It was caused by the detonation of a fuse in a special training explosive device designed for instructional purposes.

Of 10 soldiers injured, eight were hospitalized. “All those affected received prompt first aid, and thanks to the measures taken, their health is currently improving,” the statement added.

Authorities have initiated a formal inquiry, and responsible officials are conducting a thorough review of the circumstances surrounding the incident.
