Uzbekistan’s President to Visit Belarus for High-Level Talks

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is set to pay an official visit to Belarus on July 8-9, as Minsk and Tashkent look to deepen their rapidly expanding partnership.

The announcement was made by Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin following a briefing with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, The Caspian Post reports via BelTA.

Turchin said that preparations for Mirziyoyev’s visit were discussed during his recent working trip to Uzbekistan, where he held talks with the Uzbek leader on strengthening bilateral cooperation and the agenda for the upcoming visit.

“We have confirmed that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit Minsk on July 8-9. We are looking forward to welcoming the president,” Turchin said.

Belarusian officials noted that relations between Belarus and Uzbekistan continue to develop dynamically, with both sides working to ensure substantive outcomes from the visit.
