Pakistan has announced a fresh wave of diplomatic appointments, naming new ambassadors to Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Iran as part of a broader reshuffle of its foreign missions.
A total of 19 ambassadors and consuls general have been appointed to represent Pakistan in 17 countries worldwide, including key regional partners in Central Asia and the Middle East, The Caspian Post reports via Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar's message on X.
Pakistan has steadily deepened its engagement with Central Asia over the past decade, viewing the region as a strategic bridge between South Asia, Eurasia, and Europe. Islamabad’s policy toward Central Asia focuses on expanding trade, energy cooperation, transit connectivity, and security coordination.
