Russia and Uzbekistan increased their turnover in agricultural products by 20% in 2024, with positive growth continuing into this year.
This was reported following a working meeting between Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev and Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister for Investment, Industry, and Trade Jamshid Khodjaev, The Caspian Post reports citing Interfax.
"Russia and Uzbekistan are strategic partners in the area of agriculture. In 2024, the turnover of agricultural products and food increased by 20%. This year, the positive dynamics are continuing. We consider the Uzbek market to be very promising for our exporters. We are ready to increase supplies of sunflower oil, confectionery, grain and livestock products," Patrushev said.Russia in 2024 exported predominately sugar, sunflower oil, confectioneries, cake and meal, and baby food to Uzbekistan.
Patrushev also said that Russia is interested in boosting imports of fruit and vegetable products from Uzbekistan, with all the necessary conditions having been set for non-delayed imports.
