Tatarstan Invites Uzbekistan to Join KazanForum 2026

Tatarstan has officially invited representatives from Uzbekistan to participate in the international economic forum “Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum” scheduled for May 2026.

The announcement was made by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Rustem Gainullov during the Russia-Uzbekistan conference hosted by the Valdai International Discussion Club and the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.

The conference took place in Surkhandarya Region, the southernmost part of Uzbekistan. Tatarstan and Surkhandarya signed a cooperation agreement in 2023, and a special session titled “Surkhandarya - Tatarstan: Achievements and Potential of Interregional Cooperation” was held on the second day.

“I especially want to highlight the active participation of Surkhandarya Region in the international economic forum Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum,” Gainullov said. “This year, the forum will take place in May. I take this opportunity to invite all of you to participate. Over the past two years, by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin, it has been granted federal status. It’s a place to find new partners and sign new contracts.”

The KazanForum 2026 is scheduled for May 12-17 in Kazan and is expected to be a key platform for expanding economic and interregional ties between Russia, Uzbekistan, and other countries in the Islamic world.
