UzAirports Signs Deal with Chinese Hub to Boost Flights and Cargo

UzAirports is expanding its international reach after signing a new cooperation agreement with Xi’an Xianyang International Airport-one of China’s biggest aviation hubs.

The memorandum of understanding aims to strengthen ties between Uzbekistan and China by increasing both passenger traffic and cargo transportation, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

According to UzAirports, the partnership will focus on enhancing connectivity, improving logistics, and boosting the strategic role of airports in Uzbekistan and Xi’an.

Xi’an Xianyang Airport is the largest air hub in northwestern China, handling around 48.5 million passengers in 2025-making it a crucial gateway for regional and international travel.

The deal is expected to open new routes, streamline cargo flows, and support growing economic ties between the two countries.
