A delegation from Uzbekistan’s Fergana region is visiting Malaysia to explore new opportunities in the fruit and dried fruit market.
The team, led by Sherzod Yuldashev, head of the regional Chamber of Commerce, met with leading Malaysian importers and distributors to discuss the supply of pomegranates, cherries, dried grapes, and apricots, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Hoi Yong Fruits, a top supplier in the country, expressed strong interest in Uzbek produce, especially pomegranates, which are in high demand locally.
Negotiations with Al Hijrah Global Sdn Bhd, one of Malaysia’s largest distributors of dates and dried fruits, also proved successful. Agreements were reached for the supply of dried fruits - including grapes, apricots, and cherries - as well as fresh fruits such as pomegranates and cherries.
