Uzbek President Honors Outgoing French Ambassador with Friendship Award

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has received outgoing French Ambassador Aurélia Bouchez, awarding her the “Do’stlik” (Friendship) Order in recognition of her contributions to strengthening bilateral friendship and strategic ties, which she gratefully accepted.

President Mirziyoyev praised Bouchez for her significant contribution to the development and strengthening of the Uzbekistan-France strategic partnership, noting that recent high-level visits have elevated bilateral cooperation to a new level, The Caspian Post reports per Kazakh media.

The two countries have quadrupled trade turnover in recent years, with joint projects exceeding $10 billion underway. Cooperation also spans education, healthcare, culture, and humanitarian exchanges, including exhibitions at the Louvre and the Arab World Institute, the unveiling of a Beruni monument near Paris, and a Tashkent street named after Samarkand. The Uzbekistan-France University is set to open later this year.
