On November 3-4, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will make a working visit to Qatar at the invitation of Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to take part in the Second World Summit for Social Development, The Caspian Post informs.
The summit will focus on closing gaps in socioeconomic development, upholding the goals and principles of the Copenhagen Declaration on Social Development, and accelerating implementation of the UN’s 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
Discussions will emphasize expanding international cooperation, strengthening national strategies, and rolling out comprehensive measures to boost resilience, social justice, and inclusiveness.
The World Summit for Social Development is positioned as a key platform for constructive dialogue among governments, international and regional organizations, UN bodies, civil society, and the expert and business communities.
Its central goals include advancing efforts to end poverty, promote full and productive employment, improve working conditions, and broaden social inclusion amid current global challenges and growing interdependence.
The meeting is expected to conclude with the adoption of the Doha Declaration, aimed at reinforcing international partnerships and developing coordinated approaches to sustainable and inclusive social progress.
