Uzbek President to Attend EAEU Summit in Kazakhstan

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is set to join the upcoming meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council on May 29 in Kazakhstan, where regional leaders will discuss strengthening trade and economic cooperation across Eurasia.

Uzbekistan will participate in the summit in an expanded format as one of the key observer states to the Eurasian Economic Union, The Caspian Post reports via Podrobno.uz.

The agenda includes expanding trade and economic ties, boosting industrial cooperation and removing barriers to mutual trade. Leaders are also expected to discuss practical measures aimed at market integration and simplifying customs procedures.

The summit will begin with a closed-door session attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan.

Later, the meeting will continue in an expanded format with participation from observer states and partner countries, including Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdés Mesa and Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Mohammad Atabak.
