President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has arrived in Baku on a working visit at the invitation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

The Uzbek leader was welcomed at Heydar Aliyev International Airport by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Culture Adil Karimli and other senior officials, The Caspian Post reports via UzDaily.

The main events of the visit are scheduled for May 18, when Mirziyoyev will participate in the 13th session of the World Urban Forum 13, including the high-level Leaders Summit held under the auspices of the United Nations.

The global forum has turned Baku into a major international platform for discussions on sustainable urban development, housing and the future of cities.
