From January to November 2025, Uzbekistan welcomed a total of 37,200 foreign nationals who arrived in the country for educational purposes.
The figure marks a 54.3 per cent increase compared to the same period last year, highlighting a sharp rise in international interest in Uzbekistan’s education system and academic opportunities, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
India topped the list with 16,300 students, followed by Turkmenistan with 8,900. Other major source countries included Tajikistan (2,700), Pakistan (1,700), and China (1,400).
A notable number of students also arrived from South Korea (870) and Kyrgyzstan (823). Rounding out the top 20 were Egypt (737), the Philippines (501), the US (464), and Türkiye (357).
Further down the list were Afghanistan (291), Jordan (194), the UK (179), and Russia (164). From Africa and the Middle East, South Africa sent 155 students, while Iran accounted for 115.
The list was completed by Kazakhstan (113 students), Bangladesh (97), and Italy (94), underscoring Uzbekistan’s growing appeal as an international education hub across multiple regions.
