Uzbekistan Boosts Mung Bean Exports to European Markets

Uzbekistan is significantly expanding its mung bean exports to European markets, marking a notable shift in the country’s agricultural trade dynamics.

Uzbekistan exported 32,859 tons of mung beans valued at $30 million during the first half of 2025, The Caspian Post reports per Uzbek media.

This represents a decrease of 4,160 tons compared to the same period in the previous year.

China remains the dominant market, importing 27,514 tons of Uzbek mung beans. Other key destinations include Kazakhstan with 1,714 tons, Afghanistan with 1,017 tons, the Netherlands with 714 tons, and Russia with 526 tons. A total of 1,374 tons were shipped to other countries during this period.

Significantly, Uzbekistan’s mung beans have gained a foothold in the European market, with over 700 tons exported to the Netherlands, highlighting growing demand for Uzbek agricultural products in Europe.
