Uzbekistan’s First Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology Omonullo Nasritdinhodzhaev has held a meeting with representatives of leading Chinese companies operating under the Association of Chinese Entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan to discuss deepening cooperation in the mining sector - particularly in the development of green minerals.
The meeting centered on the outcomes of the recently held Green Minerals Forum in Tashkent, which both sides described as a milestone event in advancing sustainable resource development, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
The Chinese delegation praised the high-level organization of the forum and highlighted its strategic significance in strengthening the Uzbekistan-China relations.
During the discussions, the Chinese side proposed several initiatives aimed at fostering long-term cooperation. These included the creation of a $500 million investment fund dedicated to green minerals, launching joint research initiatives, forming bilateral expert groups, harmonizing environmental standards, developing specialist training programs, and expanding access to green financing tools.
Uzbek officials welcomed the proposals, emphasizing their potential to accelerate eco-conscious industrial development and enhance the strategic partnership between the two nations.
