Uzbekistan, Croatia Expand Creative Collaboration

Diplomats from the Embassy of Uzbekistan have held a series of official meetings with leaders of Croatia’s key cultural institutions, including the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, Matica hrvatska, and the Kultura Nova Foundation.

The discussions centered on expanding bilateral collaboration in cinema, literature, the arts, and cultural exchange. Both sides expressed a shared commitment to strengthening ties between the two nations’ creative sectors, The Caspian Post reports per Kazakh media.

Special attention was given to supporting contemporary art projects, such as joint exhibitions, theater productions, music initiatives, and international exchanges involving creative professionals.

A major outcome of the talks was the agreement to jointly organize Cinema Days of Uzbekistan and Croatia in 2026, alongside plans for co-productions in film and animation, and collaborative efforts to create culturally inspired computer games.

The two countries also agreed to deepen literary cooperation, including translations and co-publications of Uzbek and Croatian authors, as well as organizing literary evenings and book launch events.

Both sides reaffirmed their readiness to continue the dialogue and broaden the cultural partnership, especially in the lead-up to future high-level visits.

This renewed focus on cultural diplomacy aligns with Uzbekistan’s broader international agenda, including its preparations to host the 3rd International Festival of Handicrafts, further showcasing the country’s creative and artistic heritage on the global stage.
