Uzbekistan, EU Discuss Joint Projects to Expand High-Speed Internet Access

Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov met with EU Ambassador Toivo Klaar.

At the meeting, Ambassador Toivo Klaar highly praised Uzbekistan’s achievements in its rapid development across various sectors, improvements in the population’s standard of living, and ongoing efforts in digital technologies, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.

Minister Shermatov emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation with European countries, considering the specifics of the European market.

Additionally, the parties discussed prospects for collaboration in telecommunications, including the implementation of joint projects to provide high-speed internet to remote regions using modern satellite communication systems.

Following the meeting, both sides expressed hope for effective and mutually beneficial cooperation and the successful implementation of joint projects soon.
