Uzbekistan Eyes Long-Term Nuclear and Energy Cooperation with France’s Technip Energies

Atomic Energy Agency under the Uzbek Cabinet of Ministers (Uzatom) has held a high-level meeting with Luigi Fiorentino, Vice President of Technip Energies leading Engineering & Technology company for the energy transition, and Gaetano Crisci, Director of UTG Energies global engineering company headquartered in Nanterre, France, to discuss the establishment of long-term strategic cooperation in energy infrastructure development.

Talks focused on potential collaboration in the design, engineering, and implementation of advanced nuclear and energy projects across Uzbekistan, The Caspian Post reports per Uzbek media.

Technip Energies reaffirmed its strong interest in supporting the country’s energy transition, offering its expertise in delivering state-of-the-art infrastructure solutions, including comprehensive project design, documentation, and technical oversight aligned with international standards.

A major point of discussion was the financing of large-scale initiatives, with both sides exploring options such as export credit mechanisms and international grant programs to ensure the feasibility of future joint projects.

Technip Energies also expressed interest in formalizing a strategic partnership agreement with the Uzbek government and signaled its readiness to pursue joint market entry into third countries through collaborative ventures with Uzbek partners.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation, with a focus on promoting sustainable energy, technological innovation, and regional energy resilience.
