Uzbekistan, France Reaffirm Cooperation During Farewell Meeting of Ambassador Bouchez

Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov has met with French Ambassador Aurelia Bouchez, who is concluding her diplomatic mission, with both sides expressing appreciation for efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation.

Bochez highlighted the growing presence of French companies in Uzbekistan’s strategically important sectors, noting that this progress reflects ongoing reforms to improve the investment climate, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The discussion underscored that over the past four years, trade and economic ties between Uzbekistan and France have significantly strengthened, with bilateral trade quadrupling and exceeding $1 billion for the first time. Plans to further boost cooperation include holding the next session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation before the end of the year.

Investment collaboration was a key focus, with both parties thanking French companies MND and SUEZ for supporting joint projects. They also explored strategic initiatives involving TotalEnergies, Eiffage, EDF, Alstom, and Airbus.

Kudratov thanked Bochez for her personal contribution to the Uzbekistan-France relations and wished her success in future endeavors. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining strong cooperation and developing mutually beneficial projects in key economic sectors.
