A schoolgirl has been killed in Uzbekistan’s Namangan region following a dispute over a dress.
The incident took place in the Kasansay district, The Caspian Post reports via UzDaily.
Investigators stated that a conflict arose between a 28-year-old man and an 18-year-old schoolgirl, reportedly linked to the choice of a graduation dress.
During the altercation, the man stabbed the girl several times in the chest and abdominal area before fleeing the scene.
The victim was taken to hospital but later died from her injuries.
A joint investigative team arrived at the scene, and necessary forensic examinations have been ordered.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 97 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, which covers intentional homicide. The suspect has been detained, and investigative actions are ongoing.
