Uzbekistan, Pakistan Launch New Tourism Cooperation Plans

Uzbekistan and Pakistan are stepping up cooperation in the tourism sector as officials and travel companies from both countries work to boost tourist exchanges and launch new joint travel routes.

The Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan organized a visit for a delegation of Pakistani tourism industry representatives to the country from May 8 to 13. The initiative is aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation, expanding business ties, and increasing tourist flows between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, The Caspian Post reports via UzDaily.

One of the key events of the visit was a business-to-business (B2B) meeting held on May 8 at Wyndham Garden Tashkent. The talks brought together 24 leading Pakistani tour operators and around 50 representatives of Uzbek tourism companies.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state of tourism cooperation, prospects for expanding mutual travel, and opportunities to create new joint tourism routes and programs.

Following the negotiations, tour operators from both countries reached agreements on developing new travel packages and preparing cooperation deals.

Officials noted that direct partnerships between tourism businesses would help intensify tourist exchanges, strengthen cultural and humanitarian ties, and promote the tourism potential of both Uzbekistan and Pakistan.

As part of the visit, the Pakistani delegation is also expected to tour several major tourist destinations across Uzbekistan, where additional meetings with regional tourism representatives and visits to tourism infrastructure sites are planned.
