Uzbekistan, Jordan Launch Direct Flights as Royal Jordanian Opens New Air Route

Travel between Uzbekistan and Jordan has become easier with the launch of direct passenger flights connecting Tashkent and Amman, boosting tourism, business, and regional connectivity.

Jordan's national carrier, Royal Jordanian, has officially inaugurated regular flights on the Amman-Tashkent-Amman route, with the first aircraft arriving at Tashkent International Airport to a welcoming ceremony attended by passengers, Uzbekistan Airports officials, and airline representatives, The Caspian Post reports via UzA.

The new service will operate twice a week, every Wednesday and Sunday, offering travelers from Uzbekistan and across Central Asia convenient access to some of Jordan's most iconic destinations.

Royal Jordanian Chief Commercial Officer Karim Makhlouf said that the route is expected to attract more visitors to world-famous sites such as Petra, the Dead Sea, and Wadi Rum, while also making travel between the two countries more convenient.

The flights are part of the airline's ExploRJordan tourism initiative, designed to increase inbound tourism and strengthen Jordan's position as a regional travel destination.

Uzbekistan Airports said the new air link will also deepen business cooperation, expand cultural exchanges, and create new opportunities for trade and investment between Uzbekistan and Jordan.

The launch comes as Central Asia continues to improve regional connectivity, following recent plans to introduce 24/7 operations at key Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan border checkpoints.
