Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a state visit to Georgia on July 2-3, where he is expected to hold high-level meetings focused on expanding trade, investment, transport links, and strategic cooperation between the two countries.
The visit comes at the invitation of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, The Caspian Post reports via the official website of the Uzbek president.
During his stay in Tbilisi, Mirziyoyev is scheduled to meet with Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
The sides will discuss ways to strengthen the longstanding friendship between Uzbekistan and Georgia while deepening cooperation across a wide range of sectors.
Key topics on the agenda include:
Expanding political dialogue
Enhancing parliamentary and regional cooperation
Increasing bilateral trade and investment
Promoting cultural and humanitarian exchanges
Special attention will be given to joint projects in industry, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, agriculture, tourism, energy, and information technology.
Transport and logistics cooperation will also be a major priority, with both sides seeking to create new export routes and improve connectivity to expand access for Uzbek goods to international markets.
The sides are also expected to exchange views on regional and international developments.
The visit is expected to conclude with the signing of a comprehensive package of bilateral agreements, reflecting the growing strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Georgia and paving the way for deeper economic and political cooperation.
